Get More Pie for Your Kuai Starting Tomorrow

2016-09-13 Scott theBeijinger

Proud foodies of Beijing, the wait is almost over … in just a few days our fair capital will abound with cheap and cheesy bargains! Dough-slingers from around town will be offering some of the very best deals imaginable – don’t expect them to skimp on the cheese, either; you’re getting full-fledged pizzas for a fraction of full-price.

And just like any good pizzeria, we’re keeping the lid firmly sealed on this box! That’s right, the initial list of participating restaurants along with their drop-dead discounts are being gently fired, ready to be served before 5pm, Wednesday, September 14 – just in time to celebrate the looming Mid-Autumn Festival. (I personally am not a fan of mooncakes, so if you’re like me, it’s high time to go on an absolute pizza binge.)

All the deals will be featured nicely on one page, meaning you won’t have to search far in order to satiate your cravings. Calzone for RMB 40? All-you-can-eat pizza buffet for RMB 70? Sounds good, Eh? The only problem: discounts may be limited, so you best steal a slice before someone else pilfers that slice of pepperoni you were eyeing.

Claiming your piece of the pie is easy as, well, pie. Simply choose the type of deal you want, pay using WeChat Wallet, Alipay, UnionPay, etc., then present the digital coupon you receive at the specific restaurant. (For the tech-weary among us, don’t worry: a follow-up post will be published on Wednesday to walk you through the process.)

So there you have it … pizza season starts Wednesday, a day earlier than anticipated. Now’s the time to relinquish that ridiculous, steeply overpriced, two-bit salad you forced upon yourself. Because in a mere 24 hours, it’ll be hard not to overindulge yourself in one of the greatest comfort foods known to mankind (besides, it’s your civic responsibility to eat pizzas).
